Rally scoring • Target 11, 15, 17, 19, 21, or 25 • Win by 1 or 2

NEW Format

MLP-style rally ladder for one round or a full session

Play one 3-game round or continue through multiple rounds with rally scoring to your chosen target (11, 15, 17, 19, 21, or 25), optional win-by-2, rotating partners, ladder movement, and cumulative stats.

Rules Summary

  • Target score: choose 11, 15, 17, 19, 21, or 25. Win by 1 (default) or win by 2.
  • Rally scoring: every rally earns a point (optional — can disable).
  • No side-out scoring: if serving team misses, opponents get the point.
  • Starting positions: players choose their own starting positions. Partners may stay consistent for the game.

Serving

  • Rally scoring: every rally awards one point to the rally winner.
  • Serving order: teams may decide their serving order before each game.
  • Simple flow: no traditional side-out-only scoring is used.

Partner Rotation

Game 1P1 + P4 vs P2 + P3
Game 2P1 + P3 vs P2 + P4
Game 3P1 + P2 vs P3 + P4

Movement

  • After each round: players are ranked and reassigned to courts.
  • Top group: best 4 players go to the top court.
  • Ladder flow: next 4 go to the next court, continuing downward.

Movement Modes & Basis

Movement Mode controls the sort formula used to rank players:

  • Excel Points / KOTC Points (default): Ranks by total points scored first. Matches the spreadsheet-style MLP KOTC sheet behavior. Court and seed are used as tie-breakers only.
  • Non-weighted Differential: Ranks everyone globally by point differential first, then wins and points scored, regardless of starting court. More aggressive movement.
  • Weighted Ladder: Court level matters first, then round performance. Players climb or drop based on results, but higher courts retain value. Best for next-week seeding continuity.

Movement Basis controls which stats are used as the data source:

  • Previous Round Only (default): Next courts are built from the last completed round's results only. Overall Session Stats is a leaderboard only.
  • Overall Session Standings: Next courts are built from cumulative totals across all rounds. The Overall leaderboard directly drives court assignment.

Stats Tracked

  • Rounds played, games played, wins, losses, points for, and points against.
  • Point differential, average differential per game, current court, and best court reached.
  • Court movement history, biggest win margin, and biggest loss margin.
  • Final ranking by wins, then point differential, then points for.

Players

  • Supports 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24 players.
  • Player count must be divisible by 4.
  • 20 players create 5 ranked courts.
  • Supports custom Court Start # labels.
